Harmonised standards. Harmonised European standards provide a technical basis to assess the performance of construction products. They enable manufacturers to draw up the Declaration of Performance as defined in the Construction Products Regulation, and affix the CE marking.

Construction Products Directive (Council Directive 89/106/EEC) (CPD) is a now repealed European Union Directive which aimed to remove technical barriers to trade in construction products between Member States in the European Union. The directive is now replaced by Regulation (EU) No 305/2011. This updated list is of importance to manufacturers of construction products that have used European harmonized standards to prove CE compliance.
